What we thought we knew of the world changes yet again as one of the soldiers confronts Hina. RELATED: Dragon Ball's Best Fights (That We Never Got to See) Hina rejects him because he hurt and lied to her when she was in a desperate situation, and wouldn’t even live up to his promise to have a meal with her. He wasn’t rejected because he’s constantly a pervert - like we can assume many of the other instances were. Somehow it works as both a joke and a big emotional moment: his Count is the number of times he gets rejected by girls, but this is a much bigger thing. Hina is too naive and innocent to be able to handle the pressure of that kind of life, so he did it to protect her.Īs Hina chases Licht out of town, angry at him for leaving her behind, she proclaims that she hates him, causing his count to go down yet again, to –1000. It’s highly illegal to own one, and he could handle the heat and is going on the run. Devastated, Hina goes to Nana for help, who helps reveal to her what really happened: Licht put the Ballot in the doll because the soldiers had to believe that Hina didn’t have it anymore. She asks if he’s just going to steal it, and he says that he’ll pay her for it, giving her a simple toy in exchange for it. The moment that Hina gives him the Ballot, he changes, taking it and verbally berating her for how stupid she was to trust someone like him. She won’t take that for an answer and tries to give Licht the Ballot, which she’d been holding on to from her mother for years, but it goes badly. As he said before, Licht is just one of many Aces, and he knows the one who Hina is really looking for. He’s who she’s been looking for over the last five years, or so she thinks. RELATED: Pokémon: Twilight Wings - New Anime Debuts OnlineĪfter being saved like this, Hina is even more enamored with him. (If that doesn’t feel like a superhero move it’s not clear what would.) He also seems to be able to fly and uses that against David, hurtling towards the ground like a meteor. As he’s being attacked by David and the rest of his soldiers, who call him a fake and think they can beat him, he grabs Hina, our main heroine, and disappears. We pick up immediately from where the last episode ended, we get to see just how great the "legendary Ace" Licht’s powers are.

On top of this, the anime's world is opened up to even greater possibilities with the surprising introduction of some new technology. However, the second episode does shed more light on the mysterious Licht, a hero of a war that took place 300 years ago, and whose Count is impossibly low. Where exactly Plunderer is going is a little unclear, storywise. WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Season 1, Episode 2 of Plunderer, “I Hate You!”
